(Manisha Mahar, Intern Journalist): Sambhal; UP: due to the negligence of the government system, the body of an elderly woman had to be taken by her family on a rickshaw from the district hospital to their home. It’s not that hospital staff are not aware of all this. Even then, any vehicle was not provided for the relatives to take the body of the woman home. Seeing the corpse on the handcart, some people made a video of it. That video soon went viral.
It is being told that the woman was rushed to the hospital when her condition gone extremely bad, doctors posted in emergency conducted a health test of the woman and was declared dead. Also, the corona was tested with a True Net machine, assuming that the woman was suspected to corona. When the reports came negative, the body was handed over to the family. Compelled family members carried the dead body on the cart. During this time a passerby made a video. Now, this video is going viral on social media.
The video is clearly showing the district hospital’s negligence. It is asked to conduct a full investigation of the case. The relatives of the dead body were contacted to know the reality of the case. Prempal who took the woman on rickshaw told that no vehicle was arranged, so he himself taken his mother-in-law on a cart, all private hospitals were found closed. he further told that they finally decided to take the woman to a district hospital where the doctors declared her dead.
Dr. AK Gupta, CMS, Sambhal told there is no information about carrying the dead body on handcart from the district hospital. It is being inspected whether the victim’s family demanded a vehicle or not.
