(Harleen Kaur, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Serum Institute of India (SII) based in Pune on 28 November. He will review the preparations for the Corona vaccine being developed here. A senior official informed about it on Thursday. SII has partnered with global pharma company AstraZeneca and Oxford University for the Corona vaccine. Phase III trial of this vaccine is going on in India. The Central Drug Standards Control Organization has allowed seven firms to conduct pre-clinical testing and analysis of the corona vaccine. These include the Serum Institute of India (SII) and Genova Biopharmaceutical.

In this regard, Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao said that we have received information about PM Modi’s visit to the Serum Institute of India on Saturday. On Tuesday, Rao had said that the PM was likely to visit Pune. He said that he can come here to take stock of the situation. Rao had also informed that the Ambassadors of 100 countries will visit the Serum Institute of India and Genova Biopharmaceuticals Limited here on 4 December.
