(Riya Saha, Intern Journalist ): Jharkhand, The family of a rape victim in the infamous Rajmahal misdeed case in Jharkhand, is under peril. On late Friday night at around 12:15 am, 10-15 miscreants, resorted to the unrestricted firing at the family, attempted to strangle them, hurled slurs beat them up and browbeaten at gunpoint to withdraw the case. The entire family is terrified after the incident.
SDPO Arvind Kumar Singh, Rajmahal area Police Station in-charge Chiranjit Prasad and other officers reached the spot after the incident. SP Anuranjan Kispotta took cognisance of the situation and probed further.
Police arrested Setab Sheikh in relation to the crime and looking for other accomplices.
On the evening of Eid on 25 May 2020, a minor school girl was gang-raped in Rajmahal. The victim’s father lodged a complaint against Sonu alias Iqramool sheikh, Eidgar Sheikh and Shahnawaz Sheikh. All of them are apprehended. Among them, Shahnawaz serves in the army. The goons of the accused are reportedly harassing the family for retracting the case.
