(Juhi Aishwary, Intern Journalist): The Indian Army and Air Force have set out to prevent and monitor Chinese military incursions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The Army has deployed UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) in the Galvan Valley and Paigang Tso areas. At the same time, the Air Force has also launched a Chinook helicopter in the forward areas, increasing its activities in East Ladakh. The Army’s 81 and 114 brigades under the Leh-based Army Fire and Fury Corps have ordered their troops and officers to be in operational mode around the clock to deal with the Chinese Army. Senior Army officials are constantly monitoring the situation and necessary steps are being taken accordingly.
Three kilometers of infiltration into the Indian Territory: Chinese army personnel has reportedly reached three kilometers ahead of the Indian Territory in the southeastern part of Galvan Valley. This area is also called Hot Spring. The Chinese Army has also set up tents near the Petrol Point 14-15 and Gogra Outpost in the Galvan Valley. Initially, the Chinese army attempted to extend its activities within the Indian Territory at Paigang Tso, and on May 5, there have been kicking punches, sticks and stones between the Chinese and Indian troops in the area. After this, the Chinese army increased the activities in Galvan valley. He is continuously increasing military activities in this area.
China begins to build roads and bunkers: Chinese troops have set up a makeshift camp about 15 kilometers from the Indian outpost KM 120 in the Galvan Valley. Chinese soldiers have set up their tents in the area and there is a constant movement of their vehicles and other equipment. The Chinese army has also started building roads and bunkers in front of Indian posts in their area. The Indian Army has strongly objected to this, but the Chinese Army has continued its construction activities.
Army also increased deployment: Under normal circumstances, about 250 personnel and officers of the Indian Army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police are stationed at KM 120 post. Military convoys often pass through this area, but in view of the gathering of Chinese troops, the Indian Army has also increased its troops in this outpost and adjoining areas.
Five thousand Chinese soldiers deposited: About five thousand Chinese soldiers are present in the next part of Galvan valley, whose number is increasing continuously. India has also increased the force including essential equipment. UAVs have also been deployed. Sources said that senior military officers and high officials in the Ministry of Defense, assessing the current situation, are increasing the activities of the Indian Army in line with the activities of the Chinese Army. Senior military commanders held a separate meeting on Wednesday afternoon regarding the situation in China, not only in Leh’s Army Fire and Fury Corps but also in the Northern Command Headquarters.
