(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: Today is the 19th anniversary of the Parliament attack. On December 13, 2001, terrorists attacked the country’s parliament.
Five gunmen attacked the Parliament complex and opened indiscriminate fire there. Recalling today’s day, President Ramnath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister, and Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh have recalled the bravery and sacrifice of those who lost their lives while protecting Parliament.

Recalling the martyrs, President Kovind said, “The country gratefully remembers the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives while protecting Parliament on this day in 2001. Remembering the great sacrifice of those defenders of the temple of our democracy, we strengthen our resolve to defeat terrorist forces.”

The Prime Minister tweeted and said, “We will never forget the cowardly attack on our Parliament in 2001 today. We remember the valor and sacrifice of those who lost their lives protecting our Parliament. India will always be thankful to them.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah recalled the heroic sons and said, “I pay my respects to the brave sons of Mother Bharati, who gave their supreme sacrifice, taking on the enemies in the cowardly terrorist attack on the Parliament Parliament House of Democracy in 2001. A grateful nation will forever be indebted to your immortal sacrifice.”

Rajnath Singh wrote, ‘I salute the valor and valor of all the brave security personnel who sacrificed their supreme sacrifice in the face of the terrorist attack on Parliament on this day in 2001. Their bravery will also be remembered by the coming generations of this country.’

Explain that during this attack, five Delhi Police personnel, a woman worker of Central Reserve Police Force, a Watch and Ward employee posted in Parliament Complex, and a gardener were martyred.
At the same time, five militants of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba were killed in the action of security forces.
